Christmas Reads - Making new friends with Baby King
All of us like to have friends. But some of us are shy and may not find it easy to make new friends. This story is set in Gardens by the Bay, and it tells us how Baby King, a baby kingfisher that lives in the Gardens' Kingfisher Lake, goes about making friends. He shows us that it is wonderful to have friends, and it is not difficult to make new friends.

Author Lee Ching has always wanted to write stories for children. During the COVID-19 outbreak, she started writing stories for her grandson. Baby King And Friends is her first series of five bilingual books and Making new friends with Baby King is the first in the series. Her stories are simply written, colourfully illustrated and set in familiar places. She believes that the early years of childhood are the best time to nurture a love for reading and languages and cultivate values that will help a child as he or she grows. There is no better way to do this than through stories.
